Subject: “Walk In Christ”
Key Scriptures
Colossians 2:6-7 As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up.
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
1 John 2:6 Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus did.
Ephesians 5:2 And Walk in love, as Christ loved us.
Walking in Christ means living a daily life of intimate union, obedience, and conformity to Jesus, as described in Colossians 2:6-7 and 1 John 2:6. It involves being deeply rooted in faith, walking by the Spirit, and demonstrating obedience, humility, and thanksgiving while reflecting his character.
Key aspects of walking in Christ include:
Continuous Relationship: It is not a stagnant status but a persistent, daily, and progressive walk of faith.
Rootedness and Growth: Believers are to be firmly rooted and built up in Him, drawing life and nourishment from Him.
Submission and Obedience: This entails submitting to Christ's lordship, keeping His commandments, and imitating His behavior.
Lifestyle of Faith: It involves abandoning the "old self" and old ways of living, and instead walking in love, light, and truth.
Dependence on the Spirit: Walking in Christ is synonymous with walking in the Spirit, which produces "fruit"—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Gratitude: A hallmark of this life is overflowing with thanksgiving, recognizing Christ's sufficiency.
Walking in Christ is to make Him “The Center" of one's life, relying on Him for strength rather than striving through human effort alone.
